Based on the concept that all technology is a projection of the unconscious onto the external world, Anton Snt creates constellations of ready-made objects–The Desiring-Machines*–that function through a combination of various media. Constellations of “ready-made objects” that look like ready-made objects but are not always so. Thanks to technology, the objects appear perfect; any imperfections resulting from manual labor are eliminated by technology, transforming them into “ready-made objects.” All objects strive to become part of something else; as they connect with one another and interact within a larger composition, they lose their original meaning and take on a completely different one. This state is unstable and can function only because it is in a constantly “under reconstruction” process and must be rearranged to form of another constellations. This process of deterritorialization and subsequent reterritorialization repeats itself in an infinite number of variations, triggering an endless cycle. Thus, it represents resistance to a finite process characterized by a transition from creation to perfection, followed by stagnation, complete degradation, and ultimate disappearance. * In the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (first developed in Anti-Oedipus, 1972), The Desiring-Machines are fundamental, immanent elements of the unconscious that produce reality through continuous flows and breaks. |
